Many appraisers hold one, and sometimes more than one, designation from a host of professional appraisal organizations. These designations tell clients and, more broadly, the real estate industry that an appraiser has gone above and beyond the requirements for a state license or certification.
The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) is acknowledging the importance of designations outside the Realtor® family. Appraiser members of NAR who hold designations in qualifying NAR Affiliate organizations, may attain the Residential Accredited Appraiser (RAA) and General Accredited Appraiser (GAA) designations on an accelerated or Fast Track basis.
Do you have the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute? Maybe you have the R/W-AC from the International Right of Way Association. Both of these designations are among the many that may help you qualify for the Fast Track program. You can find all the eligibility requirements, including a comprehensive list of approved designations, on the RAA/GAA Fast Track web page.
